Lara is generally presented as an intelligent, athletic, and somewhat reckless English woman of noble birth who travels the world in pursuit of priceless artifacts. Known as both an archaeologist and an adventurer, she frequently ventures into ancient, and often very dangerous, tombs and ruins. In addition to traps and puzzles, Lara encounters a variety of enemies including rivals, gangsters, dangerous animals (including dinosaurs), legendary creatures, and supernatural beings.
KURTIS TRENT.......
Kurtis Trent, ex-Legionnaire and adventurer, was born on June 26 1972 in Salt Flats, Utah, USA. When he was only three years old, Kurtis was trained by his father Konstantin as a Lux Veritatis initiate, an ancient order now being ruthlessly hunted down by Eckhardt and the Cabal. At sixteen, Kurtis underwent the most intense stage of his Lux Veritatis initiation. Upon reaching nineteen, he disappeared and joined the Foreign Legion, changing his name to Trent. He stayed hidden within the Legion for five years but was constantly assaulted by bizarre events linked to the occult. It is here he adopts the nickname "Demon Hunter".
In 1996, Kurtis left the Foreign Legion and began freelancing with a variety of mercenary and semi-legal agencies under the direction of Marten Gunderson. He collects word from his father, but never sees him alive again. In 2001, Konstantin is murdered by Eckhardt. Spurred on by his death, Kurtis receives two talismanic items, the Periapt Shards and the terrifying Chirugai blade - a discus-like glaive made of Ferilium. He then embarks on a mission to overthrow Eckhardt. Kurtis Trent crosses paths several times with Lara Croft, British archeologist and world renowned adventurer, and they join forces in Prague to combat the Cabal and Eckhardt. He is badly wounded while fighting a mutated form of one of Eckhardt's scientists, Kristina Boaz. His fate is officially unknown, as the open-ended Angel of Darkness did not get its sequel; however, as Kurtis was said to play an important role in the Angel of Darkness trilogy, it's likely he survived.Later,he soon runs into lara,then teams up with her to stop Eckhardt and his evil plans.
WERNER VON CROY.......
Between the events of The Last Revelation and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, Lara and Von Croy have an encounter which is not featured in the games. They once again disagree and become enemies, until Von Croy invites Lara to his apartment in Paris, where he is murdered by a mysterious monster, and The Angel Of Darkness begins.
LOUIS BOUCHARD.......
A man involved in dark dealings in the Parisian underworld. Owner of the nightclub 'Le Serpent Rouge', currently closed due to a number of deaths among the staff, believed to be linked to The Monstrum.
PIETER VAN ECKHARDT.......
The Black Alchemist, leader of the secret organization, The Cabal, based at the Strahov Fortress in Prague. He appointed Werner Von Croy to recover five artifacts known as the Obscura Paintings, thought to have alchemical power and linked to dark arts.
MARTEN GUNDERSON.......
A forces provider for anything from basic security to invasions. Working for Pieter Van Eckhardt. He is the one leading the siege at the Louvre.
THE SHAMAN (DELETED).......
A North African healer and tribal mystic who took care of Lara's recovery after the Egyptian tombs. The Shaman was originally intended to appear in Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness in flashbacks telling of how Lara survived her fate in the ending of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation. Although she was cut for unknown reasons, renders of the Shaman can be seen online and in the official strategy guide by Prima Games.

A corporate mastermind based in Paris, investing in Cabal and recruitment whilst protecting their interests worldwide - he also holds a dark secret...
LUTHER ROUZIC (DELETED).......
Librarian Honorarium at Prague City Archives. Acknowledged world authority on dead languages and texts. Keeper of the Strahov archives. Little is known about Luther's role in The Angel of Darkness, whether he was a sixth member of The Cabal or simply a civilian in Prague. Like the Shaman, official renders can still be found both online and in the game's strategy guide, while early concept artwork appear in the special features menu in Tomb Raider Chronicles.
